Category Manager for global procurement / Danisco, Denmark

Your role is critical in order to ensure competitiveness in our ingredient business. It is a new role in Global Procurement,  so you will have influence on setting up the objectives, goals and tasks for the position. Beside your primary responsibility within grain based products, we expect you to be back-up on selected categories of strategic importance. You will be part of a team of engaged and competent colleagues working on a global scope. For the right candidate, we are open to consider alternative locations within Europe.

We are looking for an experienced colleague with strong negotiation skills to further strengthen our procurement team. You will be globally responsible for products derived from grain based commodities – with direct negotiation responsibilities and/or in cooperation within our network of regional teams. Functionally, you will join the procurement organization of Enablers division and you will be working horizontally and vertically within the division and across our matrix organization. You should have experience from a commercial position and have a strong knowledge on global commodity markets and how they interact.

You are competitive and persistent by nature and have already shown that you are able to balance long term strategic objectives with short term gains. You have strong negotiation skills – strategically, tactically as well as functionally. You must be in a relevant current position and be able to document your results as sales or purchasing manager of commodities or derivatives. Alternatively, you work as a trader and have ambitions to move downstream within the supply chain. As category manager you should be able to work independently as well as act as team member and leading same. Globally working means that advanced negotiation skills in English are required. SAP experience is an advantage. Learning other IT tools should be easy for you.
