Having lived abroad for a number of years, founding a Danish XING network was an excellent way for Lene to quickly start building up a network in Denmark. Despite the relatively low representation of Danes on the XING platform, she has been very successful. Within one week, 1000 members joined the “Danmark Unlimited” group. Now, a year later, the member count has passed the 5500 milestone, and the Danes are becoming more and more enthusiastic about XING and the live networking events organized by Lene in Copenhagen and Århus.
“Our group fosters the establishment and development of personal and professional relationships as well as efficient contact management. The business speed-networking sessions are especially popular as an ice breaker and a way to get people to network with many new contacts within a short period of time, while still allowing sufficient time for longer, individual conversations afterwards”, Lene explains. “And it’s very satisfying to hear the success stories and receive the thank-you letters”, she adds.
Because of the large proportion of expats and foreign business owners in the group, the organizers decided to hold the events in English so that it’s easy for participants from places like the UK, Germany, Spain and Lithuania to join in.
In the future, Lene would like to further expand the Danish group and join cooperations with other communities and organisations. Within the last quarter XING has passed another milestone in the young history of the world-wide implemented Ambassador program: the 200th Ambassador! XING looks to further improve the program and to continue supporting the work of the elected ambassadors!
