Invest in Denmark is looking for an Investment Manager. The successful applicant will join a team of experienced colleagues with backgrounds in investment promotion in three different locations in North America. The vacant position is located at Innovation Center Denmark in Palo Alto, Silicon Valley.
This challenging and fulfilling job in an international environment offers plenty of travel in North America, as well as occasional visits to Denmark.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting directly to the Regional Director for North America, your role as Investment Manager is to identify, contact and built network in large multinational companies as well as smaller high tech companies, primarily in the areas of ICT and the crossover applications to Cleantech and Health. Your mission is to convince them to choose Denmark as their location for future activities. To assist you in reaching your specific goals in terms of investment projects brought to Denmark and jobs created, you will interact with the team in North America and receive comprehensive support from the organisation in Denmark. You will also deal with the organisation of Invest in Denmark based around the globe. Finally, Invest in Denmark is collaborating with colleagues in commercial innovation and R&D based at Innovation Center Denmark to arrange joint branding and networking events.
REQUIREMENTS
This job requires a masters in business or economics or similar. Applicants are expected to have working experience in the US within international sales, marketing, and business development and to be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of company strategies, innovation trends and technologies in particular within ICT. A broad professional network at appropriate level would be an advantage. Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is a prerequisite. Experience with European companies and culture and knowledge of Denmark and the Danish language is an advantage. Applicants should have good interpersonal skills, a result-oriented approach, and an ability to negotiate persuasively at board/management level.
CONDITIONS
You will be employed on local conditions by the Danish Consulate General in New York but based at the Innovation Centre of Denmark in Palo Alto. The contract is for 2 years +, and salary according to qualifications and experience, subject to conditions of employment for locally employed personnel at the Consulate General in New York.
