The position is from August 2010 or as soon as possible thereafter, and will be for a period of three years. Expatriation package will be provided – for further information please see below.
Challenges
As Operations Manager you will be responsible for all production at Grundfos Manufacturing Russia, which also includes implementing Group activities as Grundfos shop floor Excellence/Lean, strategy mapping and Business Excellence and aligning processes with the purpose of continuously improving the production flow and the total costs.
Reporting to the General Manager you will be a part of the Management team and be responsible for the technical department and quality department as well as the supervisors on the shopfloor.
You and your team will be responsible for activities such as:
- Technical support and quality assurance.
- Launching new lines and products in Grundfos Russia.
- Production assets management, including equipment maintenance.
- Customised solutions for the Russian market, including design and implementation.
In your role you will have many stakeholders i.e. suppliers and customers. Through established KPI’s you are responsible for measuring and ensuring progress towards them and also to maintain the systems that ensure a continuous improvement of the performance at the shop floor.
As Operations Manager you are responsible for motivating and inspiring your staff and generate a strong value-driven environment with focus on performance as well as a continuous people development.
Your background
You have an Engineering background, are experienced in production management/supervising and familiar with Lean and process management from a production organisation.
At the personal level you are open-minded, a strong communicator, like challenges and meet them with a high level of interest and perceive them as opportunities rather than obstacles.
As a Manager you are not only a team player, but also able to set the scene with respect for the local culture, you are motivated by results and the desire to make a difference in the job.
You like to work with people and believe it is the people around you who are able to make the real difference by means of your coaching and inspiring style – both in your daily people management and your contribution to the management team.
