Job description
We’ve already made strategic partnerships and expect to publish an influential business book on the subject in late 2010. With that in mind we think it’s realistic to aim for creating the most valuable online and offline resource on this topic in a few years time. We want to set the scene on how organizations can transform themselves from rigid industrial hierarchies into innovative, flexible, knowledge-based networks by using the methods of social media and social capital.
The project will primarily be user driven, but we need someone to take the lead on the quality of the content. You’ll be responsible for creating the foundation to build on, which will include writing and researching articles for most of the coming six months. Afterwards we expect you to switch from heavy content production to mostly editorial and community management work. From the beginning you will be heading a team of student assistants to help you with research.
Legally you will be employed in Wemind A/S, a Copenhagen-based consultancy. Once you are on board, we will invite you to become a co-owner of Wemind.
You’ll be working closely with the founders, partner Jacob Bøtter and chairman Lars Kolind, but you will also benefit from being part of the Wemind team in general. We expect you to be the cornerstone in the transformation from possibility to history for the project.
Skills
You need to be an intelligent, open-minded person with an eye for details. Maybe you used to work with the old media (newspaper, TV, radio, etc.), but have a burning appetite for the new digital opportunities. Nonetheless, you’re more than fluent in English and know just what it takes to get your point across. It would be handy if you have some understanding of Danish, since this will be the native tongue of most of your future colleagues but this is not required.
You must also understand how important it is to get rid of the rigid, narrow-minded, hierarchical, power-based mindset for business and to substitute it with something that creates value for everyone – not only for the shareholders. This passion will be your fuel. Your education, age, sex and origin doesn’t matter.
About Wemind
Wemind is a Copenhagen based consultancy which has helped more than 100 companies rethink trust, collaboration and network internally and externally since 2005. Social capital is our philosophy, which we use to create value trough new digital tools and social media such as Facebook and Twitter. We analyze, advise, conceptualize, develop and educate to enhance organizations’ social capital. Furthermore, we see ourselves as a community of purpose rather than a traditional business. We are owned by our staff and we strive to be 100% self-financed. Our overall guideline is sustainability; financially, socially and environmentally.
