Falck Prime Atlantic, Nigeria – a Falck Nutec Group Company
Falck Nutec is a global provider of safety, survival and security training for the petrochemical, aviation, offshore and maritime industries as well as the armed forces. Training in survival, fire fighting and crisis management is delivered to international standards such as OPITO and OLF.
Falck Nutec currently has 22 training centres worldwide, located in 13 different countries.
Falck Nutec is part of the Falck Group. Falck is a more than 100-year-old Nordic-based organization that provides assistance, rescue, healthcare and training services to the public sector, private members, business subscribers, insurance companies, pension companies and corporate clients.
Falck Prime Atlantic is a newly established joint venture company with Falck Nutec Holding and local partners as shareholders. The brand new training centre has been opened in Ipara, close to the centre of oil and gas activity in Nigeria, and commenced its activities during first quarter of 2009. The centre is offering international ‘blue chip’ companies and service providers as well as local companies access to Falck Nutec’s full range of accredited and certified training courses. The company employs more than 50 staff, including qualified trainers from Falck Nutec’s training facilities in Aberdeen, UK and Malaysia. Almost 4,000 students are expected to use the facilities annually, with onsite accommodation available for multi-day courses. The corporate office is located in Lagos.
The Job
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for all financial functions within Nigeria, including accounting, finance, treasury, taxation, budgetary management, financial policies and plans, internal control systems, timely preparation of financial and management reports, including budget analyses, performance analyses and new investment analyses.
Further we expect you to manage a number of other administrative assignments of Falck Prime Atlantic.
Tasks
- Manage the finance department, and ensure that it consistently is sufficiently staffed to take care of the assignment
- Implement and manage necessary and best practise finance, HR and administrative processes, including a high quality internal control environment in all business areas of Falck Prime Atlantic
- Be a motivating day-to-day manager and make the finance and administrative departments function as service teams
- Oversee all accounting related tasks, such as review of documentation for bookkeeping, VAT, WHT and tax
- Management and control of working capital, revenue and cost, including payroll
- Prepare local annual statutory financial statements, monthly management reporting and monthly Group reporting in accordance with the Falck Group requirements
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, auditors and the training operation where necessary
- Interact with other managers to provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations
- Plan and manage activities in accordance with agreed budgets and timescales
You
You are ideally a chartered accountant or acquired accounting and management skills from years of practical experience from a finance position in an international company.
You have excellent IT skills and speak and write English fluently. Danish is not mandatory.
You are willing to travel occasionally.
You work independently and in a focused and structured way. And you thrive by “doing it by yourself” when that is what it takes.
You are ambitious and you have a positive attitude and a good sense of team spirit. You are straightforward in your way of communicating.
