Corporate Strategy is part of Corporate Strategy & Business Development which in addition to the Corporate Strategy unit consists of Business Development responsible for executing external collaboration agreements and the Novo Nordisk Biotech Fund, an internal venture fund.
Challenges
In your role as Vice President of Corporate Strategy you will be responsible for analysing, structuring and executing projects of significant importance to Novo Nordisk. In the corporate strategic planning process or in ad-hoc projects for senior management you will assume the responsibility for the management of the projects and liaise with many parts of the organisation whereby ensuring a holistic strategic solution to often multifaceted business problems. You will also be the day to day responsible for the analysis and execution of merger and acquisition projects as well as the management of Novo Nordisk’s strategic equity stakes.
You will have to build close relationships with multiple internal stakeholders to achieve optimal solutions and ensure anchoring of projects. You will be responsible for the relationships with Novo Nordisk’s investment banks and other external stakeholders. As you will work broadly with the organisation, both functionally and geographically, a very important element in your job will be to ensure an effective stakeholder management of all key stakeholders in the Novo Nordisk strategy and M&A processes.
As Vice President of Corporate Strategy you will assume the responsibility for the leadership of the Corporate Strategy team, which consists of four dedicated employees located in Bagsværd and you will be part of the CS&BD management team. Furthermore, you will have to manage a considerable work load during peak periods and ensure a continued motivation of the Corporate Strategy team.
Qualifications
You have a relevant Master degree, which has focused on finance, strategy or science and you have 7-10 years industry relevant experience. This has provided you with keen analytical and strategy development/execution skills as well as solid understanding of the pharma/biotech industry. Furthermore, you have proven people leadership as well as project management skills.
As you will be working closely with colleagues across the organisation it is extremely important that you have strong communication and stakeholder management skills, and you are able to build relations with colleagues. You should be able to and feel comfortable working with all levels within the organisation. As you will be involved in several projects at the same time, you must be able to handle many projects without loosing focus. Finally, you master the English language – both in speech and writing.
